Teknix TK2CLED8W 2 Series Freestanding 8kg Condenser Tumble Dryer with Reverse Tumble - White - B Rated

A condenser dryer suits any home without an outside wall to vent through, and the TK2CLED8W is a straightforward 8kg example for a family running four or five loads a week. Moisture collects in the machine rather than being pushed out through a hose, so it can sit in a garage, a utility cupboard or anywhere else there is a socket.

Reverse tumble is the feature worth understanding. The drum periodically changes direction through the cycle, which stops large items such as duvet covers and sheets rolling into a single ball and leaving damp patches at the centre. Anti-crease picks up at the end, turning the drum intermittently after drying finishes so clothes do not sit still and set creases while you are out of the house.

Sixteen programmes cover cottons, synthetics, delicates and timed options, selected through an LED display that shows time remaining. A child lock stops settings being altered mid-cycle, and an overheat sensor cuts power if drum temperature climbs too far. It carries a B energy rating.

Dimensions are 59.5cm wide, 61.5cm deep and 84.5cm high, so it drops into a standard appliance gap, though allow clearance at the back for the plug. Net weight is 41kg, which makes it one of the easier machines to move into position. Noise peaks at 69dB. Supplied with a 3-pin UK plug and two years of cover on registration.
